Growing up in Southern California Marcia is naturally drawn to the California coast, it's beautiful landscapes and local scenes. Living in South Orange County for most of her adult life gave her the opportunity to learn from and paint alongside some of the most accomplished artists in the country. Living in an area with so many great artists may be a deterrent for some, but for Marcia it's a motivation to get better! A recent move to E.WA has meant leaving galleries in CA, but it also opens the way for new possibilities to share her art. She looks forward to painting the gorgeous landscapes of the Northwest.
Marcia has been perfecting her skills over the past 20 years, she has found that studying and observing the works of the Masters and Contemporary Artists has contributed to her growth. She has been fortunate to paint alongside some of the best plein air artists in the country. She will forever be grateful that she was encouraged early on to take up plein air painting, and knows it has been key to her growth as an artist. Although she paints and enjoys watercolor and pastels, her preferred medium is oil. The desire to improve her work has been rewarded, Marcia has had much success in selling her work in galleries. She enjoys painting in her studio and appreciates when she has time to get outdoors to paint plein air. She feels the most important way to grow and learn is to "PAINT EVERY DAY!"
Marcia feels blessed that many people have been drawn to her work and that her paintings are hanging in many homes in California, across the United States and even in many foreign countries.

-focus on composition (simplifying)
-Learn as much about color, shapes and values
-convey the beauty in landscapes and everyday scenes/objects
-convey in her paintings the awesome beauty of God's beautiful creation
